How to use the time card calculator
  • Tab and Shift Tab: Use Tab to move through the time fields. Use Shift Tab to move backwards.
  • Left and Right arrows: Use the and arrows to move within a time field, such as from hour to minute to AM/PM.
  • Up and Down arrows: Use the and arrows to increase or decrease hours, minutes, AM/PM, hours, hourly rate, and overtime rate.
  • Type in numbers: You can also click anywhere in the input fields and type in time and numbers.
  • Total hours per day: The total hours per day are given in hour: minute format and in decimal format. For example, 8 hours and 30 minutes will be written as 8:30 and 8.50.
  • Save the time card: To save the time card, you can take a screenshot of the results. On a Mac, press Shift Command 4. On a PC, press PrtScn (Print Screen).
  • Overnight shifts: If you work overnight, this time card calculator will still work for you. Enter your start time and end time. For example, if you start in the evening and end in the morning, the calculator will automatically detect this and correctly calculate your hours.
  • Noon and Midnight: Noon is 12:00 PM. Midnight is 12:00 AM.
